About Royal Flamingo Coffee
Royal Flamingo Coffee is an award-winning micro-roaster in Columbus, Ohio. Husband-and-wife duo Bryan and Beth Brzozowski launched Royal Flamingo in 2021 with a mission to make serious coffee for unserious people. They focus on carefully sourced, high-point coffees in two lanes — really great daily drinkers and super limited micro-lots that showcase new and interesting ways coffees are being processed. (Jump on the latter because they don’t last long!) They want to make great coffee that’s easy, approachable, and fun.
Walk into our home and this painting is the first thing you’ll see. An ornate, gold-framed portrait of a flamingo looking swanky in regal garb. It’s awesome, funny, probably a little weird. But this priceless artwork sets the stage that we try not to take ourselves too seriously. Even though Bryan will hand you a drink you’ve probably never heard of, while Beth will casually serve you a 5-course tapas menu. We’ll shrug, tell you it’s NBD, and get back to the business of enjoying what’s in front of us. ... We wanted our coffee to carry the same tone. To cut through the sometimes stuffy and growing esoteric nature of the coffee world. After all, coffee is the best part of the day — it should be FUN, welcoming, and nerdy only if you want it to be. So, when it came time to settle on a name, Royal Flamingo seemed like the right fit. A reminder to take the things we do seriously (sourcing, roasting, etc) — but never ourselves. That’s the story!
