Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find Royal Flamingo Coffee?

Come see us live at the winter Schumacher Farmers Market at Parsons North Brewing Co. every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. We’ll be here serving hot coffee, fun pour-overs, and whole-bean bags through the end of April.

Royal Flamingo is on drip at Grandview Grind (1423 Grandview Ave.). Our whole bean bags are also available at Grandview Grind and both Bake Me Happy locations (Merion Village and North Market Dublin).

How do you ship?

We offer free delivery to several Columbus zip codes and delivery with a small fee to a few additional zip codes. Orders over $60 ship free wherever they’re headed. Enter your address at checkout to calculate the cost of shipping/delivery. Local delivery orders will typically arrive in 1-3 business days.

On farmers market weeks we offer free pickup (Saturdays from 11 am to 2 pm at Parsons North Brewing during the winter).

Outside of Columbus, we ship through USPS (the cost of shipping will be calculated at checkout). Get free shipping on orders over $60. Placed orders will ship within 1-3 business days. Keep an eye out for an email with your tracking number.

Do you offer local delivery and/or pickup?

We sure do. We offer free local delivery to several zip codes in the greater Columbus area. (Some areas require an extra delivery/shipping fee.)

Or choose “pick up” at check out and your order will be ready at the Schumacher Farmers Market on Saturdays through April, from 11 am to 2 pm at Parsons North Brewing. (Bonus, you can also grab a hot cup of coffee to go!)

Where do your beans come from?

We source beans from a few small, carefully chosen coffee wholesalers that value dignity and equity at the farm first. Wholesalers we trust to deliver us fresh specialty beans.

What makes your coffee different?

This is a tough question and the short answer is maybe nothing. Coffee is just one ingredient and it’s how you treat that ingredient that makes it stand out. For us, we’re simply trying to keep the integrity of the bean. We want to make sure every bean goes out into the world wearing its best birthday suit.

What we can tell you is that we roast A LOT of beans and drink A LOT of coffee. We think about coffee A LOT so that you don’t have to (unless you want to, which is cool). All so that your dreary-eyed self can press go on the coffee maker with the confidence that what you’ll be sipping all morning is a darn good cup of coffee roasted and sourced with great care. But if you want to nerd out about flavor profiles and micro-lots, we’re happy to do that, too!

At the end of the day, we’re just super jazzed about coffee and want to make great coffee easy and approachable.

Who are the folks behind Royal Flamingo?

We’re husband-wife, partner-in-crime duo Bryan and Beth. Bryan is the maniacal roaster. Beth is the humble and absurd wordsmith and coffee taster.

Why Royal Flamingo?

The name stemmed from the first piece of art that you see when you walk into our home — a gold-framed portrait-painting-hybrid of a flamingo in royal garb. It’s weird and cool and makes us smile. And makes our friends smile, too, the second they walk through our front door. Breaks the ice and sets the tone that we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

(Also, Bryan grew up in Cleveland, near Parma, Ohio, the birthplace of the pink lawn flamingo. This is where his mini-obsession with flamingos was originally born. And why we bought the painting in the first place.)

Your logo is super cool! Who’s the artist?

It is pretty great, right?! The Royal Flamingo flamingo was drawn by the ridiculously talented Columbus-based artist, Adam Hernandez. Look him up and then hire him to make art.
